Why pressure works
Sustained, even pressure across the chest and flanks is calming to most mammals. It's why a swaddled infant settles, why a weighted blanket helps people sleep, and why cattle handling systems use a squeeze chute rather than restraint.
The pressure has to be constant and gentle — not a grip, not a hug that comes and goes. That's the whole design brief, and it's all this garment does.
Being straight with you: it won't work on every dog. Dogs whose anxiety is noise-triggered tend to respond best, and it works far better applied before the trigger than during it. Getting it right
Snug, not tight
You should be able to slip two fingers underneath comfortably. Tighter isn't better — it's just tighter.
Introduce it on a calm day
Put it on for short periods when nothing is happening, for a week or so before you need it. Otherwise he learns the wrap predicts the storm, and it becomes part of the problem.
On before, not during
If you know fireworks are coming, fit it an hour ahead. Applied mid-panic it has far less to work with.

How do I measure my dog?
Run a tape around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs. Between sizes, take the larger — you can always tighten it.
Can he wear it all day?
A few hours at a time is fine. Take it off overnight and check underneath for rubbing, particularly in the first week.
Will it work for separation anxiety?
Some owners find it helps; the evidence is strongest for noise-related distress. If he's destructive or distressed when left alone, that usually needs behavioural work rather than a garment.
What if it doesn't help?
